Alpha Lambda Delta National Freshman Honor Society has invited your student to be a member of the Society based on outstanding academic performance during the first year in college. The minimum requirement for consideration is a 3.50 GPA which is attained by fewer than 15% of our freshmen. You should be justly proud of this exceptional achievement.

Alpha Lambda Delta has been on campus for over 45 years and the National organization is celebrating its 80th anniversary. With more than 200 chapters across the country, the society has a well established reputation for leadership and support of academic excellence in our colleges and universities. It offers local and national scholarships for continued study and expects members to assume productive positions of responsibility in the community.

We urge you to encourage your freshman to consider affiliation with Alpha Lambda Delta as they build a career. This year, the local chapter is awarding three (3) $300 scholarships determined by a competitive essay. Should they choose to accept membership, we hope you will join us for the Initiation ceremony and reception on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 7:00 p.m., in the Johnson Hall Auditorium at The University of Memphis campus.
