The mission of the Office of Minority Affairs is to promote and advance the personal development and academic success of minority students enrolled at The University of Memphis. This is accomplished by developing and administering programs, activities and services that address the social, educational, cultural and personal needs of minority students.

The office is also home to the Black Scholars Unlimited, Black Student Association, Hispanic Student Association, Empowered Men of Color (EMOC), and the student chapter of the NAACP.

Events are held throughout the academic year for students. These activities are sponsored and coordinated by the Minority Affairs Office, with some co-sponsorship from the Student Activities Council and the Student Affairs Division.
