The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi offers two (2) $900 Scholarships to be awarded at the initiation of new members this spring. Scholarships will be awarded only to students planning to continue full-time study at The University of Memphis, either in the fall or spring semester. There are three sections to the application:

1. Information pertaining to scholarship, leadership, career objectives, and involvement in student activities
2. An original essay on the following topic: “What are the essential qualities of a scholar in your discipline?”
3. Two (2) letters of recommendation by University faculty

Applicants for the scholarships must be members of Phi Kappa Phi or have completed the application for membership for this spring. Please complete all three sections of the application and place the documents in a large envelope for review by the selection committee. Faculty recommendations should be no longer than one page and may be on any form of stationery. The essay should be on plain white paper, 12pt type and single-spaced for readability. All three sections must be submitted in order to be considered.

The scholarship awards will be distributed in the form of a check through the Scholarship Office immediately prior to the Fall Semester. Scholarship applications should be returned to Dr. Cecil Rousseau, Scholarship Chairperson, Chapter 121, The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, 221 Brister, no later than March 13, 2008.
