Over 95% of students
visiting Student Health Services report that they were seen by a doctor or nurse
practitioner within 30 minutes. Also, nearly 100% of students report that they
would use Student Health Services again.
The students at The
University of Memphis have worked diligently to organize a wonderful schedule of
events to celebrate Black History Month. Events include “A
Night with Smokey Robinson”, “A dialogue with Lynn Norment, Sr. Managing Editor
for Ebony Magazine”, and a blood drive. The month kicks off
on Wednesday, February 1, at 7pm in Rose Theatre with a Lifetime Achievement
Award for Bishop G E Patterson of the Church of God in Christ and closes on Feb
28 at 12:30pm in University Center Faulkner Lounge with guest of honor Shelby
County Mayor A C Wharton. For a complete list of events click here.

Reminder: To avoid a
$25 late payment fee, students who elected to pay their Spring 2006 fees using
the Installment Payment Plan must pay the second installment by March 1, 2006.
Fees can be paid by credit
card or e-check online at http://bf.memphis.edu/ebursar.
Student’s UUID is his/her Universal User Identification. The username and
password required to login to eBursar are the same username and password used to
login to University e-mail and UMDrive
accounts. At this Web site, students can set you up as an
authorized user, which will allow YOU to go online to view and pay
fees.
If the student does not remember his/her
UUID or password, go to iAM, the
University's self-service identity management website. This website gives
students access to a secure website where they can change and maintain
information about themselves.

It’s time to fill out your
2006-2007 FAFSA. You can do so online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and we strongly encourage
you to do it by March 1. There are several grant
programs that run out of funds early in the year, so the earlier you apply the
better your chances are of maximizing your aid.
With the Tennessee State
Legislature beginning its 2006 session, you will read of many proposed changes
to the HOPE Lottery Scholarship program. However, they are
just that – proposals. You can keep up with actual changes in
the program by visiting www.collegepaystn.com.
