GMAC Bowl Information – Game is December 22 at 6:00 p.m. Central time

GMAC Bowl Special

The University of Memphis Tigers are GMAC Bowl-bound and so is the Alumni Association! Read on for travel package and ticket info and details about all the True Blue festivities!


Join us on the GMAC Bowl Tiger Trek

The Alumni Association is headed to Mobile to cheer on our Tigers, and we want you to join us for the trip! Buses will leave from the Alumni Center on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 7 a.m. and return to Memphis on Thursday, Dec. 23. Availability is limited, so hurry to join your True Blue family on this tiger trek to the GMAC Bowl.

The package includes:

The package costs $325 per person for multiple occupancy and $440 per person based on single occupancy. Please call 901/678-3119 for reservations. A credit card payment is due at reservation placement. No refunds or transfers.

Bursar

Students will soon be able to view their invoices/statements online!  Be sure to have your son or daughter update their University email address and link it to their personal email if desired at http://iam.memphis.edu to make sure that they receive email reminders to view their invoices.  They will even be able to request that a copy of the reminder email be sent to YOU!  Have them watch their email for updates and additional information during January

For students who register during regular registration, the fee payment deadline for Spring 2005 is Friday, January 14, 2005 to avoid a $100 late payment fee.  Students who register after January 14 will incur a $100 late registration fee.

Registration and grade holds are placed on accounts of students who owe the University money.  Please remind your son or daughter to pay off any outstanding charges so that they may receive current semester grades and register for Spring 2005.  Account balances may be viewed and paid online at https://www.memphis.edu/cashnet/359/cgi/login.pl or over the telephone at (901) 678-8600.

Reminders from the Registrar

1.      Classes end on December 8, 2004 and final exams begin December 10, 2004.

2.      Grades will be available on TIGERWEB as soon as the instructors enter them. They become official usually by the Thursday following the last exam period. Since changes may be made during that period, be sure your student rechecks his/her grades, stats, and academic action after that day.

3.      For information on how to view grades or how to request a grade mailer, students should visit the following website: http://www.enrollment.memphis.edu/registrar/Grades/grades_stdt.htm.

4.      Registration for the Spring 2005 semester continues through January 14, 2005. Please encourage your son/daughter to register early.

Residence Life

Spring 2005 Deposit Refund Deadlines

50%- January 15, 2005

Cancellations for Spring 2005 must be submitted in writing to the Residence Life and Dining Services Office, 011 Richardson Towers.

Residents canceling the spring portion of their contracts must check-out no later than Friday, December 17 at 3:00 p.m.  Residents checking out of their rooms after December 17 will be responsible for 25% of the rent for the 2005 Spring Semester. 

Semester Break

All residents, with the exception of students living in Carpenter Complex and Richardson Towers, must vacate the residence halls 24 hours after their last exam, at the latest by December 17.  The residence halls will be closed through January 13.  Residents checking out are required to sign up for an appointment to check out and surrender their room keys before they leave for Semester Break.  Residents returning for the Spring Semester are not required to move their possessions out of the halls; however, residents should take all valuables and possessions needed during Semester Break when they leave.

Spring 2005 Check-In

Friday, January 14 and Saturday, January 15 from 1 PM until 4:30 PM

All assigned rooms must be claimed by 4:30 PM on Saturday, January 15.  Residents failing to check into their rooms by 4:30 PM on Saturday, January 15 will forfeit their room assignment and their $100 application/reservation deposit.  In order to prevent your room and deposit from being forfeited, you must contact the Residence Life and Dining Services Office, 011 Richardson Towers, 901-678-2295 and request to be placed on the Late Arrival’s List if you cannot check-in by this date.

Rental Payments for Spring 2005

Rental payments for rent for Spring 2005 are due by January 14, 2005.  Payments must be made to the Bursar’s Office.  Residents who are on the installment plan for rent for Fall 2004 must complete new paperwork in order to obtain an installment plan for Spring 2005.  If you are receiving financial aid or scholarships for the Spring 2005 Semester, all aid will be applied toward tuition first, and then applied toward any debts owed the University, such as rent.

Alumni Association Scholarship

The Alumni Scholars Program encourages children and grandchildren of Alumni Association members to make the U of M their first choice for higher education. Family of dues-paying Alumni Association members may join any time within the calendar year prior to the application deadline.  First-time, incoming freshmen are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The award is worth $1000/year ($500/semester).
